Hello, I am Oliver
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in London, United Kingdom.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter living overseas.
How It Started
Moving to United Kingdom wasn’t in the plans for the long term. As with many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were tough — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more tangled than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built Deep Meadow Spruce
Most online information fell into either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in United Kingdom.
What this site does (and does not)
This site is:
- Practical insights from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever there is a meaningful change
This site isn't:
- An official tourism-resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in United Kingdom continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep sharing what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Oliver
